7th Annual Monster Tech Fest: Career and Technical Education Fair

St. Philip’s College's Applied Science & Technology department is hosting the 7th Annual Monster Tech Fest Career and Technical Education Fair. The event will take place on Friday, November 1st at the SW Campus from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm. Monster Tech Fest serves to inform high school and middle school students in the San Antonio area about unique programs offered at St. Philips College – MLK & SW campus.

The event is expected to host over 25 schools including the Emily White Garcia Home School, Cooper Academy at Navarro, Burbank High School, Brandeis High School and Memorial Early College High School – Comal ISD.

Monster Tech Fest features program information booths, lab tours, guest presenters, hands-on demonstrations and breakout sessions. Lab tours will be held with the Construction Technology Program, Manufacturing Technology Program, Air Conditioning & Heating Program (HVAC) and Aircraft Technology.

 

Sessions and demonstrations include:             

  • Aircraft demo: landing gear trainer
  • Manufacturing demo: dog tags
  • Collision: virtual sprayer demo
  • HVAC: refrigeration demo
  • Diesel heavy equipment: RDO construction equipment display
  • Culinary Arts: dessert prep demo and sampling
  • Health Sciences: simulations with student volunteers, balance tests, vision check-up, and shaken baby syndrome 
  • Special FX make-up demo
  • Horror short films demo
